Since roughly 50% of my page views are
from viewers in Japan, I'm thinking about starting to write part of
my blog posts in English and Japanese if I have some spare time. Not
only will it be easier for Japanese people to read, but maybe people
studying Japanese or studying English can use it to study as well,
who knows? (Not that I won't be making mistakes in my Japanese
btw...)
I had the chance to try another ramen
shop the other day! It's called Yamaki, and it's famous for it's
vegetable ramen, which literally comes with a three inch high stack
of vegetables on top. However, as I'm not a huge fan of vegetables I
stuck to my usual miso ramen with boiled egg added in (I generally
fall back on miso if there isn't some crazy new flavor I want to
try). I did get a picture though, since a co-worker ordered it. My
miso ramen was pretty good. It had a little bit of spice added in for
flavor, but honestly the spice was very, very mild, so if you don't
like spicy food, there's no worries there. I do wish that the dish
was a bit larger however. They totally could have had more noodles,
so next time I'll probably order omori (extra
noodles).

---Horse Show Weekend I---
This weekend I
wasn't intending to go to a horse show, but then on Saturday I sort
of decided spur of the moment that I would go. I'm really interested
in that one horse that I used to be really bad at riding, Macaron, so
I decided to ride him in a lower class. Everyone at the barn was
really excited because generally no one likes riding this horse, so
they figured something interesting might happen like a refusal, or me
falling off, or god knows what. Honestly, I didn't know how it would
go either, but I just figured I'd ride him around and have fun, since
that's why I decided to enter with him in the first place. So first
one of the trainers schooled him, but he wouldn't listen at all, and
started refusing all the fences (everyone got their entertainment!).
So then they switched to my trainer as punishment (lol) and he went
around fine. The pace for the course was set at 39 seconds, so it was
a faster time than usual. I rode him around the course and he was
fine for me. I'd like to show him in a higher class next time though
because he was literally stepping over the little 70cm jumps, making
it hard to make it down the lines. In the end our time was 41.7
seconds. Not a bad time in general, but pretty slow for the time that
day. I'd like to ride him over bigger stuff next month where he'll
actually have to try to make it around. I'm not sure if I'll be able
to ride both him and Fururu in the same class though, because it will
be hard to change tack so quickly, but we'll see! In any case, this
weekend included, I'll be showing three weekends in a row!
